Privacy Policy

• DOSE has no accounts and no login. Your children’s names, ages, activity history and notes are stored only on your phone. We never receive them, and they are never shared with anyone.
• Children never use DOSE. It is an app for parents and carers.
• Only if you allow it, the app and this website use Google Analytics to see how DOSE is used, and tell Meta and Reddit about installs, visits and purchases so we can see which of our Facebook, Instagram and Reddit ads work. Each is a separate choice. You can say no, and change your mind at any time.
• We do not sell your personal information.

DOSE — the app “Dose: Connect Through Play” and the website dosekids.app — is published by Long Duc Nguyen (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for your personal information under data protection law (the “controller”). Contact us at hello@dosekids.app.

• The names, ages and favourites you add for each child
• Which activities and texts you have completed, and any notes you attached
• Your streak, your reminder time, and any activities you added yourself

This is held in your phone’s standard app storage. It is included in your device backup if you have backups turned on, which is controlled by Apple or Google, not by us. You can erase it in the app (Family → About → Delete all app data) or by deleting the app.

1. Your purchase

DOSE is sold through the App Store and Google Play, who handle payment. We use RevenueCat to confirm the purchase is valid and to let you restore it on a new phone. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created for your install, the store receipt (product, price, currency, store country and transaction dates), your device type, operating system and app version, and your IP address. It does not receive your name, email or anything you entered in the app.

Why: to provide what you bought. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

2. Usage analytics — only if you allow it

We use Google Analytics (through Google’s Firebase in the app) to understand how DOSE is used, so we can improve it. It does nothing until you allow it: in the app, by allowing usage analytics when DOSE asks (or later in Family → About); on this website, by allowing “Analytics” in the privacy choices banner. If you allow it, Google receives:

• in the app: a random analytics ID for your install, when the app is opened, which screens you visit, and events such as adding a child (their age range only), completing an activity, marking a text as sent, opening the unlock screen, and purchases with their price and currency
• on this website: the pages you visit, taps on our App Store and Google Play buttons, and the fact that a contact form was sent (never its contents), using the _ga cookies
• device and browser information, and your approximate location (such as country and city), which Google works out from your IP address

Google Analytics does not receive your advertising ID, your children’s names, your notes, or anything you type. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and this data is not linked to Google Ads.

Why: to understand which parts of DOSE parents use and where they get stuck. Legal basis: your consent.

3. Ad measurement in the app — only if you allow it

The app includes Meta’s SDK and AppsFlyer’s SDK. Neither does anything until you give permission: on iPhone, by tapping “Allow” on Apple’s tracking prompt; on Android, by allowing “Ad measurement” when DOSE asks. If you allow it, Meta and AppsFlyer receive:

• that the app was installed and opened
• that you started a purchase, and a completed purchase with its price and currency
• your device’s advertising identifier (Apple’s IDFA or Google’s advertising ID)
• device and app information — model, operating system, app version, language, time zone — and your IP address

AppsFlyer is our attribution provider. It works out which ad, if any, led to your install and tells the ad network that ran it (currently Reddit), including when a purchase follows. Completed purchases reach AppsFlyer from RevenueCat, only after the store has confirmed them. None of these companies receive your children’s information, your activity history or your notes.

Why: to learn which of our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to installs and purchases, and to show our ads to people more likely to find DOSE useful. Legal basis: your consent.

4. Ad measurement on this website — only if you allow it

If you allow “Ad measurement” on the banner, this site loads the Meta Pixel and the Reddit Pixel. Meta and Reddit then receive the pages you visit, taps on our App Store and Google Play buttons, and the fact that a contact form was sent (never its contents), together with your browser and device information and IP address. The pixels set first-party cookies (_fbp and _rdt_uuid), and Meta and Reddit may also read their own cookies if you are logged in to Facebook, Instagram or Reddit in that browser. Automatic “advanced matching” is turned off on both, so nothing you type is sent to them.

Why: the same as above. Legal basis: your consent.

5. Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, the data deletion form, or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. Form messages are stored with our database provider, Supabase.

Why: to reply and to act on your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, and compliance with legal obligations for privacy requests.

6. Running the website

The website is hosted on Google Firebase. Like any web server, it processes your IP address and basic request details (such as browser type and the page requested) to deliver the page and protect against abuse. The Reviews page shows public App Store reviews, with the nickname the reviewer chose on the App Store.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

• Send your children’s names, ages, activity history or notes to anyone
• Sell personal information
• Send your name, email address or phone number to Meta, Reddit or Google
• Give Google Analytics your advertising ID, or link it to Google Ads
• Show ads inside the app
• Knowingly collect information from children

• In the app: Family → About → Usage analytics, and Ad measurement. Turning usage analytics off also deletes the app’s analytics ID.
• iPhone: ad measurement follows Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → DOSE.
• Android: you can also delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Settings (Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads).
• This website: use “Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page to turn analytics and ad measurement on or off separately. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a “no” to ad measurement.
• Google: you can also block Google Analytics in your browser with Google’s opt-out add-on.
• Meta: you can control how Meta uses information from other apps and websites in your Meta ad preferences.

Saying no does not change how DOSE works, and it does not affect your purchase. Withdrawing consent stops future sharing; it does not undo sharing that happened before.

We use these companies to run DOSE. Each receives only what is described above.

• Apple and Google — app distribution, payments and website hosting
• RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) — purchase validation
• Supabase, Inc. (USA) — stores messages from our website forms
• AppsFlyer Ltd. (Israel) — app install and purchase attribution, only with your consent, on our behalf under its data processing terms.
• Reddit, Inc. (USA) — ad measurement on this website, and installs and purchases in the app that its ads led to (through AppsFlyer), only with your consent. Reddit uses this information under its Business Tools Terms and Privacy Policy, and is responsible for its own use of it.
• Google Analytics — usage analytics, only with your consent. Google LLC (USA), and Google Ireland Ltd. if you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland. Google processes it on our behalf under its data processing terms.
• Meta — ad measurement, only with your consent. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. if you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, and Meta Platforms, Inc. elsewhere. Meta uses this information under its Business Tools Terms and Privacy Policy, and is responsible for its own use of it.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

DOSE is available worldwide, and the companies above process information in the United States and other countries. Where information about people in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) where the recipient is certified, or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Data on your phone: until you delete it or the app.
• Messages you send us: as long as needed to deal with them, and no longer than 24 months after our last exchange. Deletion requests are kept only as long as needed to show we carried them out.
• Purchase records: while you can still restore your purchase, and as long as tax and accounting rules require.
• Usage analytics: kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically.
• Ad measurement data: we do not keep it ourselves. Meta and Reddit keep it under their own policies, and AppsFlyer holds attribution data for us under its retention terms.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email hello@dosekids.app or use the data deletion page. We reply within 30 days, and it is free.

Because DOSE has no accounts, we can only find purchase records if you send us the Support ID shown in the app under Family → About. Data on your phone never reaches us, so you delete it yourself in the app.

EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland

The legal bases for each use are listed above. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office — though we would welcome the chance to help first.

United States (including California)

In the last 12 months we have collected: identifiers (advertising ID, install and analytics IDs, IP address, email address if you contacted us), commercial information (your purchase), internet activity (pages visited, screens and app events, with consent), and approximate location inferred from IP address. We use them for the purposes described above.

We do not sell personal information for money. When you allow ad measurement, sending app events or pixel data to Meta or Reddit may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, or as “targeted advertising”, under California and other state laws. To opt out, use the choices above — declining or turning off ad measurement stops it, and we honor Global Privacy Control. We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not knowingly sell or share information of anyone under 16, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights. You may use an authorized agent; we may need to confirm the request is genuine. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.

Everywhere else

The same rights apply to you, including under Brazil’s LGPD, Canada’s PIPEDA, Australia’s Privacy Act and similar laws. Contact us and we will help.

DOSE is intended for parents and carers aged 18 and over. Children do not use the app, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that age. Information you enter about your child stays on your phone and is never sent to us, to Meta, or to anyone else. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled by your own phone. Nothing is sent from a server, and we do not know whether you opened it.

Information in transit is encrypted with HTTPS, and access to the few records we hold is limited to the people who need it to run DOSE. No system is perfectly secure, which is one reason we keep so little.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. If we start collecting something new, we will say so here before it happens, and ask for consent where it is needed.
